These photos show similar bookcases to those on offer. The shelves are not necessarily at the same heights but these are easily moved if you’ve got a drill and a screwdriver. All solid pine with bottom plinth and decorative strip along the top shelf. Bought from B&Q in 2000 and very robust. We have now built full-height bookshelves along a couple of walls so it’s time to pass these on to a good home.

Sounds great and could be a very nice machine.

Only two things:

1) Two keys have come off – the RH ALT key (not a big problem) and the ENTER/RETURN key. The ALT key is missing but still have the ENTER key, should just glue back on.
2) There is no OS (operating system) installed at present and the hard drive has been securely wiped.

It was running Windows XP happily enough for my Dad. However, as typically happens with Windows it got slower and slower until it was unusable despite attempts to clean it up. Tried three times to install Ubuntu Linux via a Live CD but with no success. I put that down to the fact that it was still running within the XP environment.

I have no doubt that someone out there will relish the challenge of getting this working again. Please though, no sob stories or timewasters; sorry if that sounds harsh but this will only suit someone who knows what they are doing with OS installs.
